There's something about looking back at the past. Now, before you think this is going to be a history-repeats-itself lesson or just the musings of someone who can't seem to live in the moment, think again. There's nothing more fun that going back through old photo albums and looking at pictures of you, your family and friends... you can laugh at the silly ways you used to look, cry over people who are no longer with us and learn things you never noticed before in those faded snapshots in time.
Just as fun as it is to look through those albums of ourselves, imagine looking back over an album of the community. Picture St. Joseph as a young town – can you imagine the way it looked, the activities and businesses that kept its residents hopping, the buildings that lined its streets? With today's Daily Deal you can do more than picture it in your head, you can actually flip through 100 years of photos of St. Joseph's past. Our St. Joseph - Treasured Images, Vol. 2 (a follow-up to the sold-out first volume) is a collection of expertly-restored photos right from the scrapbooks of people who lived and continue to live right here. Starting with structures existing in the 1870s all the way through the demolition of the famed Robidoux Hotel, this stroll through the glory days of people and places in St. Joe will amaze you. It makes a great gift for those who grew up here or for transplants who would love to get a sense of their new community. But since quantities on this volume are very limited, don't let this Daily Deal get away before it's just a memory.
